Back at home, the Rainbow Wahine got back in the win column.

McKenzie McGoldrick and Chelsea Miyake scored in the second half as the University of Hawaii women earned their first Big West soccer triumph with a 2-0 victory against Cal Riverside on Friday night in Waipahu, Oahu.

The ‘Bows (6-5-2, 1-1 Big West) snapped a four-match losing streak but extended their home unbeaten streak to 12 contests, a stretch that dates back to last season.

UH controlled play in the second half, holding the Highlanders (4-7-2, 0-3) without a shot for its second shutout of the season. Goalkeeper Kanani Taaca made one save.

McGoldrick, a junior midfielder, and Miyake, a junior fullback, both scored their third goals of the season, which ties them for second best on the team.

McGoldrick gathered a through ball from Tiana Fujimoto and drove home a low-liner from 15 yards out to give UH the lead in the 59th minute. Miyake converted her second penalty kick of the year in the 74th minute after Christy Watanabe drew a foul in the box.

UH, which held a 12-4 shots advantage, hosts Cal State Fullerton at 5 p.m. Sunday in a Big West match.
